6bboston-001.jpgWhile wheeling along Beacon Street, on our way to an important meeting, my mom, friends and I passed by 6B Lounge. We were pleased to see the entrance is wheelchair accessible, for other places of businesses, located on Beacon Street are not accessible; due to steps leading to the entry door. 6B Lounge has a bricked sloped walkway leading to their entry door.

6bboston-002.jpgYou will need help with opening the entry door for it is not automatic. Once inside, I found it is spacious, with plenty of room to wheel my chair. It is a lounge and restaurant.  I saw ONLY 2 wheelchair accessible tables; many of the tables are tall bar-style tables, which are too high for a wheelchair; a section to the right of the entrance has accessible tables yet this section is not accessible due to a step leading to it; the bar is too high for a wheelchair, yet bars are not ADA required to be accessible. The restrooms are accessible.

I give 6B Lounge TWO STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Three Stars, they would need to install an automatic entry door; place more wheelchair accessible tables in the dining area; replace the step with a ramp leading to the section of tables to the right of the entrance; and lower a small section of the bar to an wheelchair accessible height.
