Fifteen year old Darius Weems from Athens, Georgia was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children worldwide.
Darius Goes West is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) and a charitable subsidiary of
Charley’s Fund a nonprofit foundation that funds medical research into a treatment or cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. DMD is the most common and aggressive form of muscular dystrophy. Charley’s Fund has spent more than $12 million on medical research. For the first time in the history of the disease, human clinical trials have begun.
Darius Goes West is an organization that not only raises money for children with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy but also shows people that people in wheelchairs are not different than everyone else; and also brings public awareness to the importance of Wheelchair Accessibility.

Thanks to helping to raise money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) research. DMD is the number one genetic killer of children in the world. It can strike any family, and one in every 3,500 boys is born with this devastating disease. I myself suffer from this deadly disease and hope a cure is found soon!

Thank You Kenny and Company for helping this cause. I have a 4 year old son who was just diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It’s devastating and an awful disease. I voted for Darius Goes West and hope everyone does too. We need a Cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy ASAP! Too many young children are dying from this disease! I don’t want my son to die.
