cape-cod-melody-tent.jpgOn this adventure, Jamie and Crew went to the Cape Cod Melody to see “Mind of Mencia,” tour by the famous comedian Carlos Mencia. Since we were here we thought we would do a wheelchair accessibility review. When we arrived, the parking attendant was very pleasant and directed us to a parking space that would allow plenty of room for the van’s wheelchair ramp. As we went to the front of the venue, Jamie and Crew were greeted by the ticket attendant.  The ticket attendant immediately found us the usher who took us to our seats.

cape-cod-melody-tent-3.jpgThere was a small wheelchair accessible ramp that was wide enough to get us comfortably through towards our requested seats. The restroom was handicap accessible with wide stalls and safety grab bars if needed. The sinks were accessible; however, with most of these restroom the downfall is the exposed uncovered pipes. Covering the exposed pipes under an accessible sink is now an ADA requirement. When the show started, Jamie was cracking up with the first act. We were in the very back row which was elevated above the rest of the crowd. The audio was good; however, the sound was muffled at different times during the show. The lighting was dim during show; however, during intermission it was bright. Also, the temperature was rather warm at times throughout the show.

cape-cod-melody-tent-4.jpgThe overall treatment was outstanding from the staff at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. When we went to buy a Carlos Mencia t-shirt, Jamie and Crew were greeted by Joseph Mencia. Joseph gave Jamie a free t-shirt and a pass to be the first person to take a picture with Carlos!! After we were greeted by Joseph,   Brad approached our group who was the other comedian featured on the tour. He was very interactive with Jamie asking him if he was enjoying the show and gave him a free CD of show. Lastly, Carlos Mencia at the end of his show approached us signed Jamie’s t-shirt and took his picture with him!!

Jamie & Crew give Cape Cod Melody Tent FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. They would just need to cover the exposed pipes under the accessible sinks to earn the Fifth Star. Jamie & Crew give Carlos Mencia, Joseph, and Brad FIVE STARS!!!!!! We want to thank Carlos Mencia and Crew so much for showing your true stars!!!
