sandwich-cts-017.jpgGetting an early start on the holiday shopping is always a good idea so today my friends and I went to the Christmas Tree Shop in Sandwich which is on Cape Cod and were happy to see that it is fully wheelchair accessible. There are plenty of handicap parking spaces right up front close to a wonderful paved sloped walkway that leads right to the front of the entrance door. Railings are located on both sides at the turn of this sloped walkway as an added safety feature.

sandwich-cts-019.jpgTwo restrooms are located outside to the left of the entry doors. One restroom is a unisex restroom and the other is a family/handicap restroom. This family/handicap restroom is perfect in every way. The toilet seat, safety grab bars, accessible sink, hand dryer and soap dispenser are all at a good height for my wheelchair. Pipes under the accessible sink are covered as is now ADA required and the mirror is positioned at an angle where I am able to see myself.
 
sandwich-cts-020.jpgThe front entry doors at this Christmas Tree Shop are my favorite kind of automatic doors for as soon as I approach they slide wide open. Once inside the foyer you will see another set of sliding automatic doors that slide right open for you too. 

I found it very easy and fun to shop in this store. The prices are great and right in my budget. All the aisles are wide enough to fit my wheelchair and there aren’t any stored items or displays blocking access for me. Tony, Ric and I had a great time shopping today and were especially excited to see all the Christmas items for sale. I was so excited that I bought a Christmas DVD to watch when I got back home. Ric bought some great toys for his nephews and nieces too.

Paying for your purchases at this store is easy as well for the cashier counter is a perfect height for a person in a wheelchair and if you need to use the Credit Card/ATM transaction machine it is located up front on top of the cashier counter and is easy to reach. Lucille the cashier was very nice to me and she carefully packaged the items my friends and I purchased.
