When my mom, Kevin, Kellie and I were reviewing
Charlestown Navy Yard & Tall Ships, we saw a City Toilet. We then saw a service man working on it for about 30 minutes. We weren’t sure what he was doing but we all Laughed-Out-Loud because it reminded us of the
City Toilet on Central Wharf we saw malfunction last summer; where the door kept opening and closing on a person trying to use it!
This City Toilet is located on Pier 1 at Charlestown Navy Yard. It’s identical to the City Toilet on Central Wharf near the New England Aquarium. This City Toilet is very wheelchair accessible and self cleaning as all the others. The toilet is of a good height; the safety grab bars are located on the side and rear wall of the toilet; the sink is accessible and of a perfect height. There is even a phone on the outside that is of a perfect height for me in my wheelchair.
The cost to use this City Toilet is a quarter. Beware! You ONLY have 10 minutes so you must be quick. If you’re not out within the 10 minutes, an alarm will sound and the doors will automatically open. Now that would be very embarrassing!!!
