cfgrillebar.jpgAs we were leaving the “Focus” on Vision Impairment & Blindness Conference, Ric, my mom and I passed by the Copper Fountain Grill; it is located inside the Holiday Inn and Conference Center. We decided to stop in to see how wheelchair accessible this grill is and were pleased to find it is fully wheelchair accessible.

cjs-at-holiday-inn-054.jpgCopper Fountain Grill is independently owned and operated by Weilsi Enterprises, Inc. Entering is easy for the entry doors, located off the main lobby are always wide open. Once we entered we found ourselves in a cozy, but spacious room that appeared to be the lounge. There is a bar to the left; a few tall bar tables and some accessible tables. To the right is a cozy seating area with a fireplace, couch, chairs and many flat screens T.V’s hanging on the wall. The décor is of sports memorabilia.

We were warmly greeted by Michael, the Beverage Manager. My mom asked if the bar sold bottles of water because we were all very thirsty. Michael told us that he would give each of us a bottle of water for free; because they do not charge their customers for water. We thought this was exceptionally nice, since we weren’t dining here.

cjs-at-holdiay-inne-052.jpgThe bar is not accessible for it is too high, yet most bars are not accessible and ADA doesn’t require a bar to be accessible. I would be able to access the bar because my seat on my Permobil C350 Power Chair elevates :>) I sat at a table to see if it is accessible and found it is of a perfect height for my wheelchair. There is another room off to the side, which has tables for dining. All the tables in this room are accessible and of a good height for any size wheelchair.

We never knew this grill was located here, but one day will come back for a lunch or dinner for the atmosphere is very nice and the manager is very friendly.
