Another gas station with a convenience store in downtown of my hometown of Middleborough is a Cumberland Farms Gulf Station. It is wheelchair accessible with only a few obstacles. One handicap parking space is located on the side of the building and close to wheelchair access to the front sidewalk. You will need help opening the entry door for it is not automatic and it is a tight turn because the sidewalk is so narrow.

Once inside you’ll find you can wheel around the store; the aisles are wide enough and not cluttered; it is a little difficult but managebale to make the turns at the end of the aisles. The cashier counter is too high for me to reach; the top of the counter is at my shoulder; Ric handed the cashier my money for my purchase.

The gas pumps do not have the ‘disability call button’ for disabled to request help with pumping their gas. Other gas stations I’ve been to have this helpful feature.

I give this Cumberland Farms Gulf Station TWO STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Three Stars, they would need to install an automatic entry door so wheelers can enter independently; lower the cashier counter to a wheelchair accessible height; and install a ‘disability call button’ on the gas pumps.
