After Ric and Kellie took me to use the  Auto Ambulator at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital we decided to stop at D’Angelo to grab a sub for lunch so we did a wheelchair accessibility review since we were here.  There is a handicap parking space right up in front of the area where you access the wheelchair accessible ramp. The wheelchair ramp has the needed railings for safety and leads to the entry door.

There are two doors you will need help with opening for neither is automatic. The counter where you order your food is a little high for me in my wheelchair but manageable. The tables are a perfect height for me to sit at and enjoy my food.

To get to the restroom you need to open two doors. The first door is marked ‘Restroom’ and then there is another door for ‘Women’ or ‘Men’. Once inside the restroom there is plenty of room to maneuver my wheelchair.  It has the ADA required safety grab bars around the toilet but the wheelchair accessible sink does not have the protective covering around the exposed pipes.

I give this D’Angelo THREE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Two Stars they need to install an automatic entry door, make access to restroom easier and place protective covering around the exposed pipes under the restroom’s accessible sink.
