Ric, Kate and I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods in Plymouth to look for a beach chair for Ric because his broke when we went to Scusset Beach. Dick’s Sporting Goods is a new building in the new Colony Place shopping area off of Rte 44 in Plymouth and it’s very wheelchair accessible!
Dick’s Sporting Goods has two different entry doors and both are fully automatic sliding doors so the store is very easy to access. The store is very large and spacious and roomy inside. The aisles are wide and not cluttered with displays.
The restrooms are very wheelchair accessible. There is a large handicap stall with all the ADA required safety bars. The sinks are accessible too and they do have the protective covering around the exposed pipes underneath.
The employees at Dick’s Sporting Goods are very nice and helpful. A nice male employee directed us to the area where the chairs are located and showed us the ones he thought were durable.
Ric tried them all out and chose the strongest chair.
The check out counter is a good height for my wheelchair and if you need to use the ATM/Credit card transaction machine it is in a very reachable location for one in a wheelchair.
I give Dick’s Sporting Goods FIVE STARS for wheelchair accessibility.

This reminded me of the familiar quote – “This body, full of faults, Has yet one great quality: Whatever it encounters in this temporal life Depends upon one’s actions.” (Nagarjuna) – good job. Keep it up!!
