dr-lee-kaufman-001.jpgYesterday, I went to see my podiatrist, Dr.Kaufman at his office. First let me say, that I have been going to Dr. Kaufman for many years and that he and his staff are wonderful and very courteous to me. Dr. Kaufman’s office is located in an older building and even though their building is old and not very accessible, they make every attempt possible to accommodate me and that to me makes all the difference in the world!!!!!!
 
dr-lee-kaufman-002.jpgThere are two handicap parking spaces conveniently located in the front section of the parking lot. The wheelchair accessible ramp to enter the building is in the front. Getting through the doorway is a little difficult though as there are no automatic doors and the entryway going through both doors to get into the office is very narrow.

dr-lee-kaufman-004.jpgOnce inside there is a very small waiting area. Dr. Kaufman’s friendly staff are always very kind. They come out to greet me as soon as I arrive and ask my friends and me if we need any help i.e. holding the doors open for me etc. The doorways are a little narrow and I barely squeeze through but I do make it in to every room. The staff always make every attempt to accommodate me.

dr-lee-kaufman-006.jpgMy wheelchair, friends, nurse and Dr. Kaufman can all fit into an examining room and even though it is a little tight, I get the best care and treatment. Plus we always have a few laughs! If you are in a wheelchair and have an appointment to see Dr. Kaufman, just call ahead to let the staff know what time you will arrive and they will offer you any help you need.
 
I give Dr. Kaufman’s office THREE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the OTHER TWO STARS, they would need to install automatic entry door and widen the entrance door so you can enter and turn and there is a second entry door to get into office, which is a little tricky and most wheelchair bound will need help to enter and they would need to widen some of the interior doors too. I give Dr. Kaufman and his staff FIVE STARS for being accommodating, kind, respectful and courteous to me!
