Draco the Dragon in Duxbury

285 Treamont Street (Rte 3A)
Duxbury, MA 02332
Here comes Peter Cotton Tail, hopping down the bunny trail. Oh wait! It’s not Peter. It’s Draco the Dragon, dressed as an Easter Bunny. We found Draco, posing as an Easter Bunny at this address in Duxbury. Draco told us that he was collecting Easter Eggs.
This Easter Sunday morning, my friends and I read a wonderful story in the Boston Globe, ‘My lair is your lair’, written by Christine Legere.
You can read the entire Boston Globe story at http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2009/04/12/my_lair_is_your_lair/ .
The story is about Draco the Dragon, a green metal dragon who is 9 feet tall; 15 feet long; weighs 1,000 lbs.; with a wingspan of 8 feet. Draco has resided on the front lawn of his creator, a local Firefighter in the town of Duxbury for the past three years.
Draco has been spotted in many town activities, such as town parades, baseball games, the high school and even at the prom. Draco celebrates all the holidays by dressing up for the occasion. The Boston Globe article states that Draco’s best holiday is Halloween; where his eyes glow and smoke comes out of his mouth and nostrils.
You can bet that I’ll be there to see him on Halloween.
After having Easter dinner with my family and friends, Tony, Josh and I traveled to Duxbury to meet Draco. Draco is accessible and very wheelchair friendly! I had no problems getting to Draco. He is located right off the street and sits just outside his castle. There is a small parking area, not too far from Draco.
I give Draco the Dragon FIVE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. I ‘m sure Draco has put many smiles on children’s faces and his influence will go down in history as he hippity, hops down the bunny trail tonight. He sure did put a big smile on my face this Easter Sunday.
Happy Easter Draco!

Cheers for the info, your website looks excellent! I have had a tradition with my cousins for years where we hunt for easter eggs. This totally made me think of that! Happy Easter!

WOW! I don’t go on the internet to much but today my family did a google search on Draco the Dragon. I am so glad you came by to see our Dragon and that you had no trouble getting to him. Feel free to stop by any holiday for a photo! We love to dress him in his different holiday outfits and really appreciate hearing how much he is enjoyed.
Happy Holiday!

Years ago, 69 to be exzct, a singer by the name of John Charles Thomas did a piece of music called “The Green Eyed Dragon with the Thirteen Tails. It can be googled and the song can be heard and the lyrics can also be found. Every time I commute to Duxbury from Plymouth, both for church and the Snug Harbor Chorus, the song by John Charles Thomas runs through my mind.
The work that went into making the dragon and the constant change of costume is remarkable. Keep up the good work.
Best regards,
