Monday morning, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and welcome Lisa, as a new member of Kenny & Co! We began our day of travel with a visit to Dunkin Donuts in Taunton. I showed Lisa tips on how we review a place for wheelchair accessibility.

Dunkin Donuts has plenty of handicap parking spaces right in front of the entrance. There are two entrances; one in front of the handicap parking spaces and the other on the opposite side. The entrance on the side of the handicap parking has two doors you will need help opening for neither is automatic; it was especially hard getting through the second door for it swung open towards my direction.

Inside is very spacious with plenty of tables to sit; all tables are of a good height for my chair. When ordering, the counter is at an ‘ok’ height; it is a little high but manageable; the cashier was kind and attentive listening to me place my order. The counter where you pick up your order is of a good height.

The Men’s and Women’s restrooms are very spacious, wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant, except the pipes under the accessible sink in the Men’s restroom are not covered, where as the Women’s restroom have the pipes covered. One great feature in both restrooms is the modern hand dryer; as I slid my hand inside it, my hands dried within seconds. 

We spent some time sitting at a table; socializing, drinking our coffee, and welcoming Lisa to Kenny Co. Lisa is very sensitive, kind and respectful and will be a great addition to the team. 

I give this Dunkin Donuts FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. They can earn the Fifth Star if they install automatic entry doors; change the hinges on the internal door so it doesn’t swing in the direction of the person entering; and place protective covering around the pipes under the accessible sink in the Men’s restroom.
