When I was in Plymouth this week celebrating my birthday with my mom and friends, we happened to pass by the Eastern Bank on Main Street. We noticed that the Eastern Bank had a step leading to the main entry door so my mom went inside to ask if they had a wheelchair accessible entrance. Kenny & Company strongly believe that all banks need to be accessible for persons in wheelchairs need to do banking too.

My mom came out and told me that the Eastern Bank has no wheelchair accessible entrance. She told me that she asked Darcey, a nice woman who works at this bank if the bank had a wheelchair accessible entrance. My mom told me that Darcey stood up and looked at the front entry door and realized that there was a step and then told my mom that she was very sorry but didn’t think a person in a wheelchair could get into the bank for there was no other entrance that was accessible.

There are many places of business along Main Street and Water Street in Plymouth. Some have steps and are not wheelchair accessible at all. Yet other places of business have removed their steps and replaced them with some kind of cement or stone slope leading to main entry door so that it is accessible to all. Other places have even placed ramps leading to the main entry door of their place of business.

The town of Plymouth is an historical town and has nearly one million visitors per year so I would think that all the places of business on Main Street and Water Street which runs along the waterfront would do the needed work to make sure their places were accessible to all.

I give the Eastern Bank on Main Street in Plymouth ZERO STARS. They would need to remove the step and place a slope to main entry door to earn any other Stars.
