Sunday my Aunt Nancy, Jowanna, Tony and I went to Wareham Crossing to do a little shopping. One of the first stores we shopped at was Famous Footwear because I wanted to look for a pair of warm winter boots. We all love Famous Footwear because their stores have fantastic brand name shoes at great prices.
There are plenty of handicap parking spaces located in the Wareham Crossing plaza in front of the Famous Footwear entrance. The Famous Footwear entry door is a single double door; it is not automatic so my Aunt Nancy held it open while Tony pushed my manual chair inside.
Once inside, I was pleased to find this store spacious with plenty of room to maneuver my chair. All the aisles are plenty wide enough for my chair; all products are in my view; and most are within my reach.
The employees will kindly reach for any product you need.
There is a comfortable bench seat customers can sit to try on shoes; I was looking for a pair of warm boots to keep my feet warmer on these cold winter days; Tony jokingly showed me a pair of woman boots with high heels that definitely weren’t my style :-)
The cashier counter is of a good accessible height. The employees were all very kind, courteous and helpful.
I give Famous Footwear in Wareham FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would need to install an automatic entry door so customers seated in wheelchairs can enter and exit the store independently.

Kenny and co., I make a point to look at your website every Friday before I leave work to start my weekend. I can always count on getting a good belly laugh and lots of smiles to give me a good start to the weekend. Once again – you make me smile – ok the high-heeled boot for who???

Hi Jamie, Writing full wheelchair accessibility reviews can sometimes be very “boring” so we usually like to bring a little ‘comic relief’ for our readers to enjoy. In this case it was of the joke of Tony trying on the ‘high heel boots’. Glad you like our site and hope all is good in Michigan! Stay tuned for the soon to come haircuts review of Knockouts :-)
