While traveling home from Sandwich, we came upon the US Post Office in Forestdale MA so we decided to stop in to see how wheelchair accessible, especially knowing that not all US Post Offices in MA are accessible.  Handicapped parking spaces are conveniently located right in the front of the building and close to the wheelchair accessible ramp. 

The ramp is wide and easy to get my wheelchair up for the slope is not too steep and it has safety railings on both sides too.  There are two entry doors and neither are automatic so you may need help with opening a door but both doors are plenty wide enough to fit any sized wheelchair.
 
Once inside, my friends and I approached the Customer Service counter and I bought a stamp and noticed that the counter is a little high for me but it manageable. The Postal Employee’s at this post office are very friendly, kind and helpful. The Postal Manager even came out to speak with me and my friends and we introduced ourselves and explained that we stopped by to see how wheelchair accessible this Post Office is. We spoke about the need for accessibility to all US Post Offices and I told him the experience I had at the Taunton and Fall River Post Office that are not accessible at all.

After we spoke, I went to a postal table to place the stamp on my letter and was happy to see that this table is a perfect height for me in my wheelchair.  Once I placed the stamp on my letter I placed it in a postal slot that is a perfect height for me too and easy for me to reach and place my letter inside. 
 
I give the Forestdale Post Office FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star  they would need to install automatic doors so someone in a wheelchair can get into the Post Office independently.
