I often travel to Hollywood Video in Middleboro to rent the newest movie out on DVD for I love watching good movies. I find that this Hollywood video is fully wheelchair accessible. Three handicap parking spaces are located right in front of the wheelchair access to the sidewalk that leads to the entry door. The double door is wide enough to fit my wheelchair through but not automatic so my friends always hold the door open for me.
This Hollywood Video has a drop-off-box located next to the entry door, so if you are just returning a movie you can place your DVD right inside this box which is a perfect height for me to reach. Inside is spacious and the aisles are wide enough for my wheelchair. The employees in this store are always very friendly and helpful and always offer me help in finding the movie I am looking for. The cashier counter where you pay for your rental is tall at one end but at the other end it is lower and a perfect height for me to complete my rental transaction.
I give Hollywood Video in Middleboro FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would need to install automatic entry doors.

Door opening force & closing speed is as follows;
AAB regulation 26.8.1 a-c
a-Exterior hinged doors shall have a maximum opening force of 15 lbs
b- interior hinged doors maximum opening force of 5 lbs
c- sliding or folding doors maximum opening force of 5 lbs
AAB reg 26.8.2-Doors requiring greater force shall be equipped with compensating devices to reduce the opening force, or shall be equiped with automatic opening devices.
AAB reg 26.10-Door Closers - If a door has an automatic closer device than the sweep period or closing speed of a door positioned at 90 degrees from the closed position shall take at least 6 seconds to close.
If the door was replaced or changed in some way and documentation exist for this change, the above AAB regulations must comply to the applicable edition of 521 CMR and are enforcable by an AAB General Building Complaint.
An in expensive means of measuring opening force of doors is to use a spring loaded fish weighing device and hook it to a door and pull, holding the door open at about 6-12 inches.
Whatever the scale reads for lbs is roughly the opening force. Counting the seconds it takes for a door to close will determine the closing speed.
Automatic door opening devices are not required by the AAB except when a door that is used at a public entrance isn’t the usual standard type or style of entrance/exit door.
