Since May of 2008, I’ve had an Invacare Solara 2G Tilt-in-Space Manual Wheelchair and love it! Depending on where I’m going I alternate using this chair with my Permobil C350 Power Chair  which I also love and  posted a review on.  Recently my friends and I realized we never posted a review on my Invacare Solara 2 G tilt-space which we feel may be helpful to other wheelchair users, so here is our review! 

My Invacare Solara 2 G tilt-space is cable-free, lightweight, comfortable and very reliable. It has a tilt-in-space feature which helps relieve pressure from my spine; a hand release for tilting; elevating leg rests; and a lifetime warranty on the frames and crossbraces

My Invacare Solara 2G Tilt-in-Space Manual Wheelchair has a more reliable tilting mechanism than my previous  Quickie IRIS Tilt Wheelchair. The tilting locking mechanism on my previous Quickie IRIS Tilt Wheelchair was never reliable from the time I received it and it was in constant need of repair; the locking mechanism kept breaking; it would often get stuck when I was tilted or it wouldn’t stay locked in place. Jamie, my good friend once had an Quickie Iris Tilt Wheelchair and experienced the same problems. The tilting mechanism for my Solara G Tilt-in-Space has never had a problem. 

I use my Solara 2G Tilt-in-Space manual chair at Healthrax Fitness & Wellness Center because it fits with all the work out equipment; at the Auto Ambulator at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital because my power chair interferes with the function of the Auto Ambulator; and when my power chair’s battery needs charging.

My Solara 2G Tilt-in-Space has an Invacare Personal Back which provides me with increased lateral stability and support for great positioning and comfort.  My seatbelt is safely fastened to my wheelchair frame with a flat metal mount.  The screw goes thru metal to the metal wheelchair frame eliminating any possibility of my seatbelt ripping off my chair; as it once did in another chair I had which had just a screw thru the seatbelt webbing.

I give the Invacare Solara 2G Tilt-in-Space Manual Wheelchair FIVE STARS for design, durability, comfort, reliability and positioning. I highly recommend this chair to all who need a reliable manual chair that tilts!
