I went to visit the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Dennis and this is my opinion on how handicapped accessible it is.
I went this Kingdom Hall because one of my friends goes to service there and I am looking for a new church/hall that fits my needs. And my friend told me that she loves her service.
I will start off with the handicapped parking. There are handicapped parking spots about 20 ft. away from the entrance. There is no ramp but the entrance to the building is level ground so there is no ramp needed.
The entrance has double doors so someone in a wheelchair would need assistance entering the church. I needed my friend to hold the doors open while I went through. The doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair to fit through without any trouble at all.
Once inside the building there is plenty of room to move about in a wheelchair without any trouble at all, I had plenty of room in my wheelchair. It is big and spacious. My opinion on the lighting is that I think it is very good for the visually impaired.
There is a handicapped stall in both the men’s and women’s restrooms. The restrooms also are big enough for someone in a wheelchair to move about without any troubles. They also have one handicapped restroom which is very convenient. The doors going into the restrooms are plenty wide enough and there are protective covering over the pipes under the sink.
My visit to the Kingdom Hall in Dennis, MA overall was very enjoyable. My wheelchair accessibility rating for the Kingdom Hall is FOUR STARS. To get the fifth star they would have to put in automatic doors. Everyone I met or spoke to there was very friendly and helpful and I felt very comfortable.

Hi, Hope you decide to visit the Kingdom Hall again.
Love is truly the order of the day with Jehovah’s people.
You will find true friends, true knowledge and hope for the future because the teachings are strictly based on the Bible, its prophecies, principles and purpose of life now and into eternity if one chooses to apply what they learn.

Hi Walter,
We don’t have a store or sell any product. We review stores and products regarding their wheelchair accessibility. Every place or product we review has a phone number listed. I suggest you call them directly.
Best of luck.

Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness are a great organization to watch build there sanctuaries. They have so many volunteer laborers and skilled carpenters and all around construction experienced people that are involved. The unfortunate thing that I have experienced with this organization is that they do not understand that every public/common space is required to be designed to include Individuals with Disabilities.
One such Kingdom Hall was built in Westfield, and another shortly after was built in Feeding Hills. Luckily I was able to advise the facility in Feeding Hills early enough in the construction process where they were able to make some changes to the plans and provide full access to the stage/platform, albeit at the back and not in the front where all other participants gain access to the stage.
After I saw how the Feeding Hills facility was designed I filed an AAB complaint concerning the Westfield location because it was apparent to me that this was how this organization was building most, if not all of their facilities. The facility in Westfield applied for a variance from the requirement of a reconstruction project which shall meet all applicable sections of the current edition of 521 CMR AAB rules & regulations under section 16.1 for access to the stage/platform making the argument that it was excessive cost by stating it was going to cost $32,650 to build. The AAB denied the variance and a ramp was built for less than $2,200.
It appears that the parking area at this Kingdom Hall does not have the required designated spaces & appropriate size access aisles. If there are 15 or more spaces in the lot the Inclusive Accessible spaces shall be fully marked 8’ wide spaces, with at least one Van Accessible space which has an 8’ wide Access aisle for deploying a wheelchair lift.
