Wednesday after a meeting in Mansfield, my mom, Amanda, Ric and I came upon Knockouts Haircuts for Men. We went inside to see how accessible it was and once inside Ric and I both decided to get a haircut. We were really pleased with the outstanding haircuts and satisfying experience at this very wheelchair friendly and accessible salon for men.

Knockouts Haircuts for Men is a unique full-service, sports-themed salon providing haircuts and other grooming services including massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, and hair waxing exclusively for Men by offering a pampering experience that is not found at other salons or barber shops.

The female hairstylists all wear short boxing shorts. The boxing style décor consists of large leather chairs, individual flat screen TV’s with a remote control at each station and complimentary beverages. The salon originated in Texas and recent franchises have opened in New England.

The single entry door is not automatic so Amanda held it open while Ric pushed my manual chair inside. The waiting area has plenty of space for my chair; and all hair products for sale are within my reach. A large sign hanging on the wall of a list of all services is easy to see and read.

All the hairstylists’ chairs are removable with plenty of space for your wheelchair; shampooing chairs are removable as well and sinks are of an accessible height. You will love the extra pampering included with a haircut which consists of shampooing, hot facial towel and scalp massage.

Allisha, my hairstylist and Tonya, Ric’s hairstylist were very kind, sweet and professional. If you need a haircut and enjoy a little extra pampering, I highly recommend Knockouts Haircuts for Men.

The single restroom is large wheelchair accessible and fully ADA compliant; I could easily reach the faucet, soap and hand towels.

I give KNOCKOUTS FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would need to install an automatic entry door so a customer in a wheelchair can enter and exit the salon independently. Allisha and Tonia deserve FIVE STARS for their kindness, sensitivity and great hairstyling skills.
