Today, Kate, Josh, my Aunt Nancy and I all went fishing at
Onset Town Pier. My aunt packed a picnic lunch and we ate right on the dock because we didn’t want to miss catching any fish. But no fish were caught. We stopped at Lindsey’s Restaurant on our way home because my aunt wanted to get a gift certificate for a friend. We decided to do a wheelchair accessibility review of Lindsey’s since we were here.
Lindsey’s is wheelchair accessible and has a nice wide ramp that leads to the front entry door. There are two entry doors you will need help with opening for they are not automatic. Lindsey’s has two main dining rooms. The one on the right side of entry door have some booths but also have tables that are wheelchair accessible and a good height for one in a wheelchair.
The dining room to the left of the entry has tables that are also a good height for persons in wheelchairs. This dining room has a bar in the rear but the bar is not wheelchair accessible for it just has a high counter and high stools. There are TV’s on the walls in this room which are easy for one with visual impairments to see.
I’ve eaten at Lindsey’s Restaurant a few times in the past with my mom and dad and the food was great and the staff were always very friendly, kind and helpful.
The restroom at Lindsey’s is very wheelchair accessible and has a large handicap stall with all the ADA required grab bars. The sinks are accessible and have the ADA required protective covering around the pipes under the sinks.
I give Lindsey’s Restaurant FOUR STARS. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would simply need to install automatic entry doors. It would also be nice if they made a portion of their bar in the lounge wheelchair accessible.
