You can read the Boston Globe article on their departure day by clicking on ‘Lynn man takes awareness on road’ By Christopher J. Girard / Boston Globe / June 6, 2010

Matt will drive his wheelchair across America with a final destination of Long Beach, California. Matt’s goal is to help to raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and to set a Guinness World Record for fastest cross-country trip by wheelchair! The funds raised will support progrsms provided by  Matt’s Place,  a nonprofit organization which improves the lives of individuals living with disabilities by building accessible housing and educating the community on disability related issues.
