On our way to Marshfield Fair my friends and I decided to stop at the McDonald’s for a soda so we did a wheelchair accessibility review since we were here. There are a few handicap parking spaces right up front with a cement sloped walkway leading to the door. There are two doors you need to enter and will need help with opening for neither are automatic and are very heavy. The counter where you order your food is a little high for me in my wheelchair so my friends ordered me my diet coke.

There are booths in this McDonald’s as well as tables. Some of the tables have chairs that are permanently mounted and can’t be moved so these tables are not wheelchair accessible. Yet there are a few tables that have removable chairs and are wheelchair accessible and a good height too. The restrooms are wheelchair accessible. They are single rooms with all the ADA requirements. The sink is accessible and has the pipes surrounded by a stainless steel encasement so they are not exposed. It is the first time that my friends and I’ve seen this kind of protective covering around the pipes under a sink for usually they are covered with a white pvc covering around the pipes.

I give this McDonald’s THREE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Two Stars they just need to install automatic entry doors and lower a portion of the ordering counter to a height that is good for a person in a wheelchair to place an order and complete their transaction independently!
