After a long day of travel and the excitement of seeing the 2009 Inauguration on Tuesday, we finally arrived back at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, out hotel. We decided to eat dinner at Mez Restaurant for it was in the hotel and we were too exhausted to travel far. The Mez is casual dining and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is wheelchair accessible except for the restrooms.
Access is easy for the doors are always kept wide open for it is inside of the Marriott. All the tables are wheelchair accessible and of perfect height for my wheelchair. Our waiter was friendly, courteous and kind. The service and food was very good.
The restroom inside the Mez Restaurant is not wheelchair accessible for it is too small and my wheelchair couldn’t fit inside. If you dine at the Mez and need to use the restroom; you will need to go back into the lobby; wheel all the way to the other side of where the Mez is located and use the hotel’s restrooms. The Marriott’s lobby restrooms are spacious, wheelchair accessible and fully ADA compliant.
I give the Mez Restaurant THREE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Two Stars they need to enlarge and remodel their restroom to make it wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. All customers should have equal access to the restroom inside the restaurant.

I myself am not in a wheelchair. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet evening at the Mez over the weekend and there was a gentleman who was in a wheelchair. I watched as he effortlessly navigated in the restaurant. The food there is also very good. I will return again.
