jordans-mom-012.jpgJosh, Amanda and I went to M.O.M at Jordan’s Furniture to experience the action of the Motion Odyssey Movies, especially the moving seats and 3-D experience. I was very pleased to find M.O.M. is fully wheelchair accessible, with only one obstacle.

jordans-mom-010.jpgThere are many handicap parking spaces located in a large parking lot, close to the entry door of Jordon’s Furniture. Larger parking spaces for handicap vans are well marked.

M.O.M is located inside of Jordon’s Furniture. Entering is easy for there are wide automatic entry doors. Once inside, I was pleased to see how spacious it is. Jordon’s Furniture provides loaner wheelchairs for any persons in need.

jordans-mom-015.jpgMy friends and I came upon an elevator that brought us to the second floor, which is where the start of the maze to the entrance of M.O.M. is located. This elevator is really cool for it has glass on the side. Once we exited the elevator, we discovered the maze is a good 20 minute wheel/walk to M.O.M. The maze takes you through the furniture showrooms. We were impressed on how beautiful the furniture and showroom was, especially, Amanda who is engaged to be married soon; she saw a few pieces of furniture that caught her eye.

jordans-mom-019.jpgWe finally saw the entrance, which has in large print, the word, M.O.M above. The hallway leading to M.O.M. has large old and new motion picture posters hanging on the walls which are fun to see.

My friends and I discovered that I could not use the main M.O.M entrance due to a large staircase; my friends then saw an elevator that we took down to get to M.O.M. .

jordans-mom-029.jpgWhen we arrived at this level, we came upon a concession stand. This concession stand has a large variety of snacks, drinks and food. The waiting area has ghost like artifacts hanging from the ceiling, which is really cool to look up at.

jordans-mom-026.jpgThe tickets can be purchased at this concession stand. The admission cost is $6 per person to watch two shows; each show is 15 minutes long. The countertop at the consession stand is too high for me to reach; my friends helped me complete my transaction. Instead of tickets we received gold tokens. The M.O.M. employee then takes your tokens before allowing you to access the theater. We found all of the employees to be very helpful and kind. We were given 3-D glasses to wear for the show.

jordans-mom-014.jpgThe employee kindly showed us where I could sit in my wheelchair to view the show. The seats do move with the show; I couldn’t sit with my friends, but did feel the special effect of real water squirting on me. The first show was 3-D and the second show was 2-D. Josh, Amanda and I all had many laughs. We will defiantly go back to M.O.M especially since the employees are very helpful and the shows are exciting.

jordans-mom-013.jpgThe restrooms at Jordon’s Furniture are spacious, wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. The handicap stalls are large with the safety grab bars on rear and side wall of the toilet; the accessible sink is of a perfect height for my wheelchair; the faucet, soap and towel dispenser are automatic and within my reach; the pipes underneath the sink are not exposed.

I give M.O.M at Jordon Furniture FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star, they would simply need to lower a section of the consession stand’s countertop to a wheelchair accessible height.
