mozzarellas-005.jpgAfter working out at Healthtrax Fitness Center, Tony, Kate and I stopped for lunch at Mozzarella’s Pizza in New Bedford. Mozzarella’s specializes in pizza, subs, wraps, seafood, and pasta. I was pleased to find it wheelchair friendly and accessible with only a few minor obstacles.

mozzarellas-015.jpgMozzarella’s is located in a plaza next door to a bowling alley. There are two handicap parking spaces right up front; wheelchair access to the sidewalk is located on either side of the building. There is a one door entry you will need help with opening for it is not automatic.

mozzarellas-016.jpgInside is spacious with eleven tables; seven of which are the perfect height for my wheelchair.  The counter where you place your food order is of a perfect height; an employee brought my lunch right to my table. The self-serve soda fountain and condiments is a little too high for me to reach from my chair, so my friends got it for me. The employees were very nice and the food and service was great.

There restroom is spacious, wheelchair accessible and fully ADA compliant. 

All and all I give Mozzerella’s FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. To earn the Fifth Stars, they would simply need to install an automatic entry door; and lower the self-serve soda fountain and condiments.
