My friends, mom and I traveled to Methuen today and stopped at Nick’s Family Pizza because we were hungry for some lunch but we didn’t stay because it is not very wheelchair accessible. Nick’s Family Pizza is located in a small plaza on Broadway and there are plenty of handicap parking spaces located in the large parking lot of the plaza.

Access from the parking lot to the sidewalk in front of Nick’s Family Pizza is easy for the wheelchair access onto the sidewalk is right in front of the entrance. You will need help with opening the entry door for it is not automatic. Once inside I was very disappointed for all they have in the small dining area are three tall, bar style tables that are not of wheelchair accessible height. I was in my Permobile C350 Power Chair today and my seat would have been able to elevate high enough to fit at the tall table but I base my reviews on the typical wheelchair whose seat cannot elevate. The counter where you place and pay for your food is way too high for any sized wheelchair too. There are no restrooms located in Nick’s Family Pizza.

Nick’s Family Pizza does offer FREE delivery for a minimum order of $8.00 so if you are in a wheelchair and would like to order their pizza, delivery is your best option.

I give Nick’s Family Pizza ONE STAR for wheelchair accessibility and this is only because I was able to enter the restaurant. In order to earn the other Four Stars, they would need to install an automatic entry door; lower the counter where you place, pay and pick up your order to a wheelchair accessible height and place a table in the dining area that is of a wheelchair accessible height so a person in a wheelchair can enjoy eating their pizza in this pizza place.
