Its Memorial Day weekend which makes me think of the beginning of summer and going to the beach. With that in mind, my friends and I went to Old Navy at Silver City Galeria, a very wheelchair accessible place to shop for some beachwear.
Entering the store is easy for the doors are always wide open during store hours.
I was greeted by the Old Navy beach family, as they posed wearing the most fashionable beachwear; exactly what I was looking for. They were having so much fun that we joined in.
The store is spacious with plenty of room to manever your chair between merchandise for sale. The counters are all of a perfect height. I spotted a shirt that I liked and all I needed to do was to try it on. Off to the dressing rooms I wheeled to see if it the shirt was the right size. A handicap accessible dressing room that is meant just for physically disabled shoppers is very spacious and has a bench to sit with safety side grab bars on the side.
The restrooms are located in the same area of the dressing rooms. It is spacious, wheelchair accessible and fully ADA compliant. The accessible sink, soap and hand towel dispenser are all of a good height and easy for me to reach. Pipes under the sink are covered as it is now ADA required.
The cashier counter is a bit high for me but manageable. The service was great and the employees all very sensitive, courteous, respectful and helpful!
