forefathers-monument.jpgCome see for yourself Our Forefathers Monument in Plymouth. It’s a great place to have a picnic and get a little history at the same time. This national monument was erected to remember the labors, sacrifices and sufferings for the cause of civil and religious liberty. At four points the statue has a representation  of 4 persons named Liberty, Morality, Law and Education. Names of people from the Mayflower are scripted also on this monument. The place is very wheelchair accessible. It has a paved sidewalk leading up a slight hill and has a good paved slope from the street sidewalk with no trouble getting to the base of the monument. From afar the statue was beautiful and as I got even closer it was breathtaking. It looks over towards the Ocean by the waterfront where the Mayflower 2 is located.

I give Our Forefathers Monument FIVE STARS for accessibility, giving great historical facts and offering a great place for recreation.
