papaginorayn-004.jpgSunday, Aunt Nancy treated my friends and me to lunch at Papa Gino’s in Raynham. We found this Papa Gino’s is partially wheelchair accessible with only a few obstacles which could easily be fixed.

papagindos003.jpgThis Papa Gino’s has a large parking lot with plenty of handicap parking spaces, located on both sides of the entrance. Access to the walkway is easy for these parking spaces are close to a cement sloped walkway that lead to the entry door on either side. The entry doors are not automatic; you will need help with opening these doors for they are heavy

Once inside, I was pleased to find it very spacious and easy to maneuver my chair around. I ordered my meal at the customer service counter, which is of a perfect wheelchair accessible height. The employee was very patient and kind, waiting while I made my decision. The soda fountain was set too high for me to reach, but my friends were able to help me out.

papaginoraany006.jpgWhen heading to the dining area, I noticed booths off to the side that would be impossiblefor me to sit at; a middle section with tables was very accessible and another sitting area with tables at a higher level where stairs lead up to.At first, I thought the upper level was inaccessible, but to my surprise there was an entry door from the outside with a ramp leading to this section. I was very impressed. The tables in this area are all at a good wheelchair accessible height. The lighting throughout Papa Gino’s is good for visually impaired.

Restrooms are spacious and fully ADA compliant except the pipes under the accessible sink are not covered as is now ADA required.

I give this Papa Gino’s THREE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Two Stars, they would need to install automatic entry doors; lower the soda fountain machine to an accessible height; and cover the pipes under the sinks in the restroom.
