Pedestrian Crosswalk on Centre Street at 5-Way Intersection in Middleborough

Centre Street

My mom, Ric, Tony and I were strolling along the sidewalks in Middleborough yesterday to see how wheelchair accessible the businesses are in my home town. We came across a pedestrian crosswalk, located right in front of
Flat Iron Cafe in Middleborough on Centre Street only to discover there is NO wheelchair access to the sidewalk on the other side of Centre Street. I was in my manual chair so Tony pushed my chair on the street while Ric and mom walked on the sidewalk.
This is dangerous!! Cars are coming from different directions because it is at a 5-Way Intersection of – Centre Street – High Street – Everett Street – Station Street and Centre Avenue.
I give this pedestrian crosswalk on Centre Street in Middleborough ZERO STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn any Stars, the town needs cut out the curb on the sidewalk of this pedestrian crossing that has no wheelchair access to ensure EQUAL and SAFE sidewalk access for ALL citizens.

I worked at the Middleboro nursing home only 1/4 mile away with some Bamsi clients. They loved going for walks to downtown Middleboro, but we found many of the cross walks are too dangerous.
