plymouthjune28th-010.jpgPlymouth Visitor Information Center, conveniently located right across from historic Plymouth Harbor is fully wheelchair accessible. It’s a great place for tourists to stop & find out what’s happening in the area. Another Plymouth visitor information center called Tourist Information Center of Plymouth is located at Exit 5 off Rte 3.

plymouth-july-1-008.jpgHandicap parking spaces are located in a side parking lot and on Water Street close to the Visitor Center. Stairs are located on one side of the entry door with a nice wheelchair accessible ramp located on the other side. The entry door is not automaric so you will need help with opening the door. Yet on warm sunny days, the doors are usually left wide open.

plymouth-july-1-006.jpgThe customer service counter is a little too high for me to reach. Yet the folks working here came to the other side of the counter to assist me. The many brochures located on racks are accessible and easy for me to reach. The employees are very courteous, friendly and helpful.

I give Plymouth Visitor Information Center FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. To earn the Fifth Star they would need to install automatic entry doors so a person in a wheelchair can enter independently and lower a section of the customer service counter to a wheelchair accessible height.
