qdoba-july-14-2010-001.jpgAfter my doctor’s appointment at  Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center my mom Amanda, Ric and I traveled to Kenmore Square. We stopped for lunch at Qdoba Mexican Grille and found it very wheelchair friendly and accessible.

qdoba-july-14-2010-007.jpgWhen entering you’ll notice the door is wide enough to fit your chair yet it’s not automatic so Amanda held the door open while Ric pushed my manual chair inside. The entry way is sloped with railings located on both sides for added safety.

qdoba-july-14-2010-002.jpgOnce inside we approached the glass counter with food selections and placed our order. The employees were very friendly, kind and helpful as they took my order. We paid for my lunch at the cashier counter, which was of a perfect height for my wheelchair.

qdoba-july-14-2010-005.jpgAll the tables in the center of the dining area are of a perfect wheelchair accessible height with plenty of room to maneuver my chair between tables. The tables located on the side wall are not accessible for they are tall bar-style tables that are too high.

qdoba-july-14-2010-003.jpgQdoba Mexican Grille is the Official Mexican Restaurant of the Boston Red Sox. We chose healthy meals which were very tasty. All the employees are very kind, friendly and helpful. The restrooms are spacious, wheelchair accessible and fully ADA compliant.

I give Qdoba Mexican Grille in Kenmore Square FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would need to install an automatic door so a person in a wheelchair can enter and exit independently. All the employees I met deserve FIVE STARS for their kindness, sensitivity and helpfulness.
