quiznoes-subs-009.jpgSaturday evening, Josh, Amanda and I stopped for a bite to eat at Quiznos Sub in Seekonk before seeing a movie at the Showcase Cinema in Seekonk. We were very pleased to see that this Quiznos is fully wheelchair accessible.

quiznoes-subs-010.jpgThere are handicap parking spaces conveniently located close to the wheelchair access of the sidewalk. The entry door is not automatic but is plenty wide enough for my Power Chair to fit through with ease; Josh held the entry door open while I drove my Power Chair inside.

quiznoes-subs-011.jpgOnce inside, I was pleased to see this restaurant is very large and spacious; there is plenty of room for me to maneuver my wheelchair around easily. The Customer Service Counter where you place, pay and pick up your food order is of a perfect height for my wheelchair; I was able to complete my transaction independently; the employee was very kind, courteous and respectful, speaking directly to me.

My friends and I all thought that the subs are healthy and of a very reasonable price; there is a special in which they offer any sub for $5. I ordered a turkey club on wheat bread which was delicious.

quiznoes-subs-012.jpgMost of the tables inside this Quiznos are all of a perfect wheelchair accessible height; there is only one higher bar style table that is too high for a wheelchair; the tables are all spaced out nicely and not too crowded together, like in some other restaurants; there is plenty of space for my wheelchair, which allows me room to eat without being in the way of other customers.

There is a Men’s and Women’s single restroom; both very are spacious, fully wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant; the safety grab bars are located by the toilet at a perfect height; the accessible sink is of a perfect height, with the pipes underneath the sink are covered which is now ADA required; the faucet, soap and towel dispenser are easy for me to reach.

I give the Quiznos in Seekonk FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star, they would simply need to install an automatic entry door.
