regis006.jpgI have been getting my hair done at the Regis Salon in the Cape Cod Mall for about a year now so I decided it was time to rate them on their wheelchair accessibility.  There are no automatic entry doors because they have doors that are called pocket doors.  Pocket doors are doors that slide into the wall the whole time that Regis is open. The reason Regis has these kind of doors is because Regis is located inside of a mall. The doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair to enter Regis without any trouble at all.

regis0051.jpgOnce inside Regis there is plenty of room for someone in a wheelchair to move around and not be in anyone’s way or block anything that someone might need to get to.  This is very important to me since I always feel like my wheelchair is too big to fit into a lot of places.

About the handicapped parking, because of the location there is no handicap parking directly in front of Regis, but there is handicap parking in the mall parking lot fairly close to Regis.  If you have ever been to a mall then you know that there are a lot of handicapped parking spaces located around so you can almost always find a spot close to where you want to go.

regis-hair-pics000.jpgThe hairdressing chairs that they use are able to be moved so there is no need to for me to go through the trouble of transferring to another chair. This makes it very convenient for someone who has a reclining wheelchair. There might be a small problem for a person without a reclining chair to have their hair washed, unless they can be transferred to another chair. The mirrors are at a perfect height for someone in a wheelchair.

regis007.jpgI think the lighting is bright enough for a visually impaired person. The staff is very friendly and helpful in helping you make decisions about your hair. I always look forward to going to Regis to get my hair done because I know when I come out I will be happy. I have been going there for quite some time now and I think I would be confident in any of the staff. As far as the restrooms go, they do not have restrooms because there are several public restrooms located throughout the mall.  The mall restrooms are extremely wheelchair accessible.

I give Regis Salon at the Cape Cod Mall FIVE STARS for wheelchair accessibility.  I love going there and feeling pampered.  The hairdressers are very nice and direct all questions to me instead of the people with me.  I would recommend it to anyone.
