Yesterday, my mom, friends and I traveled to Ride-Away in North Attleboro and were pleased to find it very wheelchair accessible. Ride-Away is America’s largest provider of accessible vehicles and vehicle modifications. The conversion van I travel in was purchased from Ride-Away; Ride-Away installed my wheelchair ramp and the Wheelchair Tiedown and Occupant Restraint System (WTORS).
My mom and friends care a great deal about my safety, as our readers probably understand after reading our page on W/C Passenger Safety. My mom and friends took me here to have my WTORS evaulated for safety.
Entering Ride-Away is easy for the entry doors are automatic with a simple push of a button. Once inside, I found it is very spacious with plenty of room to maneuver my chair. We were greeted by a nice receptionist. My mom asked if we could speak with a technician regarding my Wheelchair Tiedown and Occupant Restraint System.
Lee Sable, the Service Manager warmly greeted us and we asked if he could evaluate the safety of the WTORS equipment installed in my van. We also gave him a copy of Ride Safe, for my mom, friends and I recommend all wheelchair-seated travelers and those who transport wheelchair-seated travelers read
RIDE SAFE.
Lee made a few minor adjustments. He looked at my Wheelchair Tiedown Occupant Restraints and assured my mom, friends and me that it is SAFE for me to use.
While looking at the wheelchair conversion in my van, Lee noticed that it needed some minor repair, so Tony made an appointment to have the work done. Lee told us ‘Operational Conversion Maintenance’ is recommended every six months. It consists of a full inspection of the conversion equipment in the van and repair if needed.
Before we left, we checked out the restroom; the restroom is spacious and fully ADA compliant.
I recommend every wheelchair-seated traveler to take every step to make sure they have the best possible securement system and restraints to keep them safe.
I give Ride-Away in North Attleboro FIVE STARS for wheelchair accessibility and service!!

Are they so accessible because they sell mobility products or because they are kind considerate people?
Like you say ‘America’s largest provider of accessible vehicles and vehicle modifications’ I’m guessing accessibility makes good business sense and without it the $’s would fall!

Hi Kenny! Thank you for doing your homework and informing all of us! Jamie’s van was customized and built by “Rollox”. But thanks to you we are very much aware that Jamie’s seatbelt is just a regular factory seatbelt and not adequate to protect him and provide totally safety and we will have the sureloc seatbelt installed immediately!
