salem-013brothers-deli.jpgAfter spending a fun and spooky day in Salem, we decided to stop and grab a bite to eat at Salem’s Brothers Deli & Restaurant which is located in the middle of downtown Salem and fully wheelchair accessible. There are two entry doors you may need help with opening for neither is automatic.

Brother’s Deli and Restaurant is a cafeteria style restaurant where you get a tray and pick out the food of your choice. The counter where you get your food is too high for me in my wheelchair as is the cashier counter where you pay for your meal. My friends helped me reach for my food and pay my bill but a wheeler alone would need to ask for help.

salem-018.jpgTables inside are small and barely fit four people but we pulled two tables together, which others do if they need more table space. The height of the table is perfect for my wheelchair to fit comfortably and I enjoyed the delicious food. Restrooms are fully wheelchair accessible and meet all the ADA requirements. From here we headed back home and all were tired but what a fun day all of had in Salem, MA.

I give Salem’s Brothers Deli & Restaurant FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star, they would need to install automatic entry doors and lower the cafeteria style food counter and cashier counter to a wheelchair accessible height.
