The next hotel my mom and aunt stopped at to ask if they had any wheelchair accessible rooms was the Surfcomber. The parking lot had a handicap parking space right up front. The main lobby was not wheelchair accessible for it had steps. The woman told my mom an aunt that the hotel did have one wheelchair accessible room. She took my mom to see it. There was handicap parking right next to a wheelchair accessible ramp that led to the room. Yet the door to the room had a lip and was too narrow to fit my wheelchair through. The bathroom was not wheelchair accessible for it only had a standard bathtub with a bench and the door to the bathroom was too narrow for my wheelchair.
Kenny and Company give the Surfcomber on the Ocean ZERO STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn any more stars they would need to place a ramp leading to the main office, widen the doorway leading to the wheelchair accessible room, place a wheelchair accessible threshold at the door to the room, widen the bathroom doorway and replace the bathtub with a wheelchair accessible roll in shower stall.
