Yesterday, Kellie, Kevin and I traveled to the Boston Public Library. The six handicap parking spaces in front of the library were taken. We found a parking space at a parking meter on Newbury Street one block from the library. It is FREE for vehicles with a handicap placard to park at meters in Boston :>)
As soon as I got out of my van I noticed right away that most all the unique shops, restaurants and cafes located on Newbury Street are NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE :<) Most places of business on this street have stairs leading to the entry doors.
The first place that we strolled by was The Closet. Kevin and I waited outside while Kellie went inside to ask if they have a wheelchair accessible entrance and was told there is no wheelchair access. She told me that The Closet is a consignment clothing store for men and women and they have beautiful used clothes for sale. She did say it appeared to be pricey and above our budget. She saw a used pocketbook for sale that cost $800!!!
I give The Closet ZERO STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn any more Stars, they would need to install a wheelchair accessible ramp or a wheelchair lift so persons in a wheelchair can enter this store.
