Yesterday Kat Taylor, Project Assistant, Disability Rights Program at The Equal Rights Center (ERC) contacted me to let me know about a press release ERC was ready to release regarding a settlement between ERC and Johnny Rockets. Kat told me this settlement requires that Johnny Rockets make its restaurants comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), thereby making all their restaurants accessible to persons in wheelchairs. Johnny Rockets has a few months to make the changes.

Kat contacted me because I signed an affidavit regarding the lack of accessible seating I found at the Johnny Rockets I’ve been to: Johnny Rockets in Boston, Johnny Rockets in Braintree and Johnny Rockets in  The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. I love the burgers at Johnny Rockets but have never been able to find accessible seating.

This is wonderful news because now persons in wheelchairs will be able to find accessible sesting at all Johnny Rockets! You can read ERC’s press release by clicking on The Equal Rights Center and Johnny Rockets Restaurants Work to Increase Accessibility for People with Disabilities.
