tjmax-043.jpg‘TIS THE SEASON’ to go Christmas shopping so my friends and I went to TJ-Maxx to get some Christmas shopping done and were very pleased to see that it is fully wheelchair accessible. We were also pleased to see the low discounted prices on all the nice items for sale!

There are plenty of handicap parking spaces located right up front in the large parking lot and close to the entry door. I was especially pleased to see that the entry door is my favorite kind of automatic door for as soon as you approach it opens right up so there is no need to push a button. This kind of automatic entry door makes it very easy for wheelers to enter independently.

Once inside I found that all of the aisles are wide enough for my wheelchair and I could reach all the items that I looked at with ease. I also checked out the spacious rest room and was pleased to see that it is very wheelchair accessible and meets all the ADA requirements. The accessible sink is of a good height for my wheelchair and the soap and towel dispenser are easy for me to reach. The pipes under the sink are covered which is a new ADA requirement. The safety grab bars located on the side and the back of the toilet are at a perfect height too.

All the employees were very courteous, friendly, respectful and helpful!
