wild-birds-006.jpgSpeaking of Bluebirds, Wild Birds Unlimited in Easton is my mom’s favorite store to shop for supplies for all kind of birds, especially Bluebirds. Today, Kate, Josh and I traveled with her to this store in Easton and now understand why!

wild-birds-007.jpgThere are plenty of parking spaces located on the side and front of this store. Wheelchair access to the sidewalk is conveniently close to the entry door. The entry door isn’t automatic so Kate pushed my manual wheelchair inside while mom held open the door.

wild-birds-010.jpgTwo very kind and courteous men greeted me; these men are here on Sundays helping Bob and Kathy, the owners. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about Bluebirds and all kind of birds; they told me if I ever have a question about birds in my yard to just give them a call.

wild-birds-009.jpgThe store is small and filled with many wonderful supplies. It’s a little crowded but I could view everything; and the very nice men offered to move any item I needed to wheel by. This store has many kinds of bird feeders; poles; baffles; a huge selection of seed, suet and fruit; bird houses for all kinds of birds; covers for bird houses and feeders; bird baths; binoculars; spotting scopes; books about all kind of birds; bird watching guides, hummingbird supplies; giftware; cool things for your garden; and much, much more.

The cashier counter is a little high but manageable; all the folks who work in this store always offer to help carry your items, no matter how small to your car; so shopping here is accessible and easy.

wild-birds-013.jpgBefore I left, I was introduced to Harry, the pigeon. I was told that Harry was abandoned a few years ago and Bob and Kathy, the owners adopted him. Wow, I thought, how very nice of them. I was able to pet Harry and noticed that Harry has a white heart on his beak! I was told that all pigeons do. Something new I learned today.

shadoow.jpgThen I met Shadow, a very kind and sweet dog. I was told that he was also abandoned by his owner a few years ago and Bob and Kathy, the owners also adopted him.

wild-birds-012.jpgThe two kind men, who attended the store today told me all about the Bluebird Houses, located throughout Easton that Bob, Cathy and they volunteer their time to monitor to help ensure the safety and growth of the Bluebird population.

I really enjoyed my visit to Wild Birds Unlimited in Easton today. It’s a great place to shop and very educational as well. All the folks who work here share all kind of information about birds and other animals.

I give Wild Birds in Easton FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would need to install an automatic entry door so a person in a wheelchair can enter and exit independently. The people working here deserves FIVE STARS for their kindness, sensitivity and helpfulness!
