Yesterday I celebrated my 34th birthday with my family and friends!! My mom, Ric, Amanda and I met my Aunt, Grandma, cousins, Liz & Chrissy and Chrissy’s baby Cole for a delicious birthday lunch at
Cabby Shack. My dad and brother Dave were working and couldn’t join us for lunch.
After an enjoyable birthday lunch my mom offered to treat me to fresh lobsters to cook at my home for a birthday dinner. I chose not to cook these two lobsters named Amanda and Ric I met outside of Caddy Shack :>)
We then headed to Woods Seafood Fish Market to buy some fresh live lobsters. This fish market is located in the same building as
Woods Seafood Restaurant. I love the fresh seafood they serve in their restaurant and sell in the fish market. I was in my manual chair so Ric pushed my chair up the wooden ramp that leads to the entry door. The entry door is wide and easy to get though but not automatic. Amanda held the door open so Ric could push my chair inside. The restaurant is located to the right of the entrance and the fish market to the left.
We entered the fish market and were greeted by a friendly employee who was very helpful, kind and courteous. I told the employee I came to buy some live lobsters; he kindly showed me to the big tank of live lobsters located to the left of the glass counter with fresh fish. The display of fresh seafood behind the glass counter is easy for me to see from my wheelchair.
I looked at the lobsters as they were being placed on the scale and one of them seemed very rambunctious. LOL :>) The lobster tanks are located next to the scale which is set on a table of a good wheelchair accessible height.
I then went up to the front counter and ordered some stuffed quahogs to cook as an appetizer. There is a section of the front counter that is easy for me to reach; I easily paid for my lobsters at this cashier counter with birthday money my mom gave to me.
When I got home we all thought it would be fun to have a lobster race; the result; Larry the Lobster won! Before we placed the live lobsters into the pot of boiling water, we placed them in the freezer; Kate, my friend told me this is the most humane way to cook a live lobster for they are asleep when you put them in the boiling water and do not feel the initial shock or pain.
After eating the delicious lobster dinner, I blew out the candles on my birthday cake that my mom bought at
Stop and Shop in Middleboro. I then opened my birthday presents.
For many years, I have collected DC Comic books, heroes and villains. My mom, dad, aunt, grandma and friends gave me wonderful new collectible items for my collection. I treasure my collection and keep them in my bedroom on shelves.
My lobster dinner from Woods Seafood Fish Market was delicious! I had a GREAT & WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY!
THANKS Mom, Dad, family and friends for making my birthday a day to remember!
I give Woods Seafood in Plymouth FOUR STARS for Wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the Fifth Star they would need to install an automatic door so a person in a wheelchair can enter independently.
