zoes-pizza-mashpee-002.jpgWhile shopping at Mashpee Commons North Market Street, my Aunt Nancy, Jowanna, Tony and I had a taste for Italian and decided to eat at Zoe’s Pizza. We found Zoe’s Pizza partially wheelchair accessible.

zoes-pizza-mashpee-003.jpgThere are plenty of handicap parking spaces up front and close to the entrance of Zoe’s Pizza in the shopping center parking lot. All handicap spaces are clearly marked and ADA compliant. The wheelchair access to the sidewalk is conveniently close to the entrance of Zoe’s Pizza.

The double entry doors are not automatic. Tony held the door open while Jowanna pushed my manual chair inside. Tony told us the entry door is very heavy and believe a customer in a wheelchair would not be able to open by themselves.

zoes-pizza-mashpee-006.jpgThe ordering counter is of an accessible height. My Aunt treated my friends and me to lunch; she handed me the money to give to the cashier and I had no problem reaching.

zoes-pizza-mashpee-007.jpgThe dining room is very spacious with plenty of room to wheel between the tables. The tables are all of a good wheelchair accessible height. Zoe’s Pizza also has a bar that is NOT accessible for the countertop is too high. The cashier and other employees were all very kind, respectful and helpful. The food was delicious!

Restrooms are located at the end of a long hallway. Both the Men’s and Women’s restrooms are spacious, wheelchair accessible and fully ADA compliant. The faucet, soap and hand towel dispenser are all within my reach.

I give Zoe’s Pizza THREE STARS for wheelchair accessibility. In order to earn the other Two Stars they would need to install an automatic entry door so a customer in a wheelchair can enter and exit independently; and lower a section of the bar’s countertop to a wheelchair accessible height so a customer in a wheelchair can sit here to enjoy some food or a drink.
